Jean-François Hamel

Jean-François Hamel is an articling student in Gowling WLG's Montréal. He holds a bachelor of laws from the Université de Montréal.

After obtaining a bachelor of arts from the Université de Montréal in 2013, Jean-François pursued a master's degree in French language and literature at McGill University. He later worked as a lecturer in the Department of French Studies at the University of Toronto.

During his law studies, Jean-François played an active role in faculty student life, including acting as corporate secretary of the Business Law and Management Committee. In the spring of 2017, he co-founded the Tax Law Committee, for which he served as vise-chair of events until the following year.

Having a keen interest in business law, Jean-François will be on secondment to the legal affairs department of a major Canadien financial institution during his second summer at Gowling WLG.
