Jennifer Therrien is a bilingual associate in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office. Her practice focuses on insurance defence, commercial litigation and personal injury.

Jennifer represents a range of casualty and property carriers in diverse coverage, defence, and subrogated matters with a focus on claims arising out of bodily injury, property damage, product liability, errors and omissions, and professional liability. She is a dedicated and passionate civil litigator who aims to efficiently resolve disputes for her institutional and individual clients.

She also has a robust commercial litigation practice involving complicated contract and mortgage disputes.  She is not afraid to take on challenging positions while regularly keeping her clients informed of the strengths and weaknesses of their case.

Jennifer also frequently works with individuals in need of guardianship or other substitute decision matters and guides her clients through these difficult times with compassion and empathy.

Jennifer thrives in the courtroom and has appeared before numerous tribunals and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. She has successfully advocated (in English and French) for her clients on complex motions and trials on numerous occasions.

She has a passion for musical theatre and performed in many productions throughout university and law school. This experience taught her the value of being prepared and well-rehearsed – qualities that Jennifer now applies to her work as a litigator.
