Joannah Luel

Joannah Luel is a summer law student in Gowling WLG’s Hamilton office. She is entering her third year of the JD program at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University.

During her legal studies, Joannah worked as a research assistant for Professor Lee on a project about legal pedagogy, which sought to reflect on the law school’s curricular design and pedagogical practices. She also volunteered for the consumer protection clinic with Pro Bono Ontario, where she conducted research on the frequent offenders of door-to-door scams and their associated companies.

Prior to law school, Joannah completed her concurrent education degree with a bachelor of arts and bachelor of education, as well as a masters of education from the University of Toronto. She has worked as an educator in various independent and private schools in the Greater Toronto Area. She also ran a successful tutoring business for seven years, supporting families with their educational goals.

In her free time, Joannah enjoys long distance running, reading mystery novels, and golfing with family and friends.
