Jonathan Konietz

Jonathan Konietz is a Rechtsanwalt (German qualified attorney-at-law) and senior associate based in our Munich office who advises on intellectual property law with a strong focus on patent litigation.

His wide range experience includes patent disputes in various technical fields, such as telecommunications, mechanics and electrical- and medical engineering.

Through his work on numerous high profile SEP/FRAND cases, he has also developed in-depth expertise in patent related antitrust law and cross-border licensing negotiations.

Before joining Gowling WLG, Jonathan worked in the patent litigation team of a leading German IP law firm.

Experience

  • Acting for an international client in one of Germany's largest patent disputes (technical fields: digital subscriber line (DSL) and 3G/4G).
  • Advising an international client in a global patent dispute that was settled successfully.
  • Advising various clients in judicial and extra-judicial licensing negotiations, including respective contract drafting.
  • Representing national and international clients, both right holders and implementers in patent infringement, preliminary injunction and foreclosure proceedings.
