Kaisha Thompson

Kaisha Thompson is an associate lawyer in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office. She has experience working on large, complex litigation matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Kaisha worked for the Attorney General of Ontario in a variety of areas, including commercial disputes, administrative law and environmental law. Most notably, Kaisha assisted on a six-month Aboriginal rights trial valued at $500 million.

Kaisha holds a bachelor of arts (honours) in political science from Carleton University. She also holds a masters of arts in Indigenous governance from the University of Victoria and a law degree from Queen's University, where she was awarded the Dean's Key for excellence in academics and volunteerism in the community. During her time in law school Kaisha was a caseworker at Queen's Legal Aid Clinic and represented clients before the Ontario Court of Justice and Social Benefits Tribunal. Kaisha also competed on the Laskin National Moot team.

In addition to her legal practice, Kaisha has been active in politics for the last decade. During the 2015 federal election she worked on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's tour team and acted as senior adviser to several local campaigns across Ontario.
