Kirath Bharya

Kirath Bharya provides legal advice to clients in the UK energy sector. She advises market leading off-takers, network owners, operators and developers of industry Codes and regulation. Kirath also advises clients on commercial contracts which operate within various regulatory frameworks and agreements. Additionally, she offers support in the drafting and negotiation of power purchase agreements (PPAs) in respect of some of Great Britain's largest renewable projects.

Having worked in-house for a major energy supplier prior to joining Gowling WLG, Kirath has gained practical insights into the sector. She enjoys working in such a fast-paced, innovative and forward-thinking environment.

Experience

  • Kirath has advised on a wide range of PPAs in respect of renewables technologies and gas peakers. She has also provided advice on battery storage agreements in respect of energy storage system (ESS) projects.
  • Kirath has advised on agreements related to electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
  • Kirath advises clients on the regulatory environment within which they operate. She also drafts and negotiates bespoke electricity and gas supply terms.
  • Kirath also advises various Code managers in respect of a variety of industry Codes, including the SEC, REC, DCUSA and the SPAA.
