
Bio
Louka Axani-Gauthier is a summer law student in Gowling WLG’s Montréal office. He will start his articling term in 2027.
Louka is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), having earned a certificate in environmental sciences in 2023.
While pursuing his studies, Louka worked as a legal assistant and paralegal at a law firm. This experience enabled him to acquire extensive skills in corporate law, litigation and dispute resolution, and employment, labour and equalities law. In this role, he supported clients on mergers and acquisitions, injunctions, motions to revoke judgments, and shareholder disputes. He also contributed to international matters related to franchise law.
Previously, Louka worked in North American transportation logistics. He also has extensive culinary experience as the section head and sous-chef in fine dining restaurants in Montréal, as well as Michelin-starred establishments in Paris, Lyon, Cannes, and Saint-Tropez.
He speaks both French and English fluently.
