Luc Deshaies is the managing partner of Gowling WLG’s Montréal office and a trusted employment and labour lawyer known for his clear, strategic counsel on complex workforce issues.
Luc focuses on collective and individual labour relations, advising a broad range of players in this field. He also handles labour and employment issues arising from mergers and business transfers.
Consistently recognized by Chambers Canada, Best Lawyers in Canada and Lexpert as a leading lawyer in his field, Luc has appeared before all judicial and administrative tribunals in Québec with jurisdiction over labour and employment matters.
Outside of his practice, Luc is highly active in Québec’s legal profession. He served in the past as Bâtonnier (President) of the Bar of Montreal and has held roles on the Québec Bar’s Executive, Finance and General committees. He currently sits on the Québec Bar’s France–Québec Committee
Luc was also appointed President of the Canadian National Committee of the International Association of Lawyers (UIA) and is currently Vice-President of the International Senate of Bars and Law Societies.
Luc practises in English and French.
