Luis R. Cousin

Luis R. Cousin is an associate lawyer in Gowling WLG's Toronto office, and a member of the firm's Business Law Group and Nuclear Group. His practice focuses on nuclear law as well as corporate law, with a particular emphasis on public and private M&A, capital markets, and general corporate matters.

Being completely fluent in French as well as Spanish, Luis completed his LLB in Civil Law at Paris West Nanterre in France. He obtained his first master's degree in International and European Laws at the same university with a focus on trade and investment laws, and obtained his LLM in international business law at Osgoode Hall Law School.

Prior to joining Gowling WLG as an articling student, Luis worked as a clerk at a general practice law firm in Paris, where he assisted the partners in cases of Private International Law. He then interned at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, and subsequently worked at a French international insurance company in the area of compliance related to insolvency and bankruptcy proceedings.
