Madeline Hall

Madeline Hall is an associate in the advocacy department at Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office, practising primarily in the area of medical defence. Madeline's practice includes civil and administrative litigation in the areas of health law, professional liability, and disciplinary matters. Madeline completed her articles at Gowling WLG, where she gained litigation experience in both the intellectual property and the advocacy departments.

Madeline has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Provincial Offences Court. She has also appeared as counsel at Coroner's Inquests, and before administrative tribunals, including the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board. 

During her studies at Queen's Law, Madeline participated in Legal Aid where she represented victims of violent crime before the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board. Madeline also tutored students in tort, contracts, property, public, and criminal law. After her first year of law school Madeline  interned with a human rights legal clinic in rural Guatemala. Working primarily in Spanish, Madeline researched and drafted arguments concerning human rights violations that occurred during Guatemala’s 30-year civil war.

Madeline is a member of the Advocates' Society and the County of Carleton Law Association. She currently volunteers with Law Help Ontario program operated by Pro Bono Ontario. Madeline is an avid long-distance runner, and has competed in half-marathons and marathons across the United States and Canada.
