Mandy Van Waes

Mandy Van Waes is a summer law student in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office. She is currently completing her JD at the University of Ottawa, and holds a masters degree in public policy from the University of Calgary.

Prior to beginning her studies in law, Mandy worked in politics and public policy. Relevant highlights include working in the Prime Minister’s constituency office, and managing Private Members’ Bills for the Government House Leader. Mandy also worked at the C.D. Howe Institute, where she coordinated with leaders in business and government across the country to create topical public policy events.

At law school, Mandy has been involved in the Ottawa Law Review as both an assistant and associate editor. She has also worked as a research assistant to Stephanie Ben-Ishai, working on matters related to bankruptcy, commercial, and restructuring law.
