Manpreet Kandola

Manpreet is a senior associate in Gowling WLG's contentious construction and engineering team and acts for developers, contractors and sub-contractors.

She is experienced in adjudication, mediation and litigation and also advises clients on contract administration, particularly JCT forms.

Manpreet takes an inquisitive approach to matters to understand the key issues and detail and takes a strategic approach with a view of the wider impact for the client. She has an appreciation for the commercial objectives of the stakeholders, adapting her approach to achieve those objectives and the best outcome for clients.

Experience

  • Representing a developer on a variety of disputes relating to a multi-million pound development in central London, including payment provisions, retention of title and collateral warranties and third party agreements;
  • Representing a developer in an adjudication on an interim account, including payment of variations, contra charges, extension of time and loss and expense;
  • Representing a contractor on a high value claim against a Middle Eastern company under various heads of claim including claims for change orders and unpaid invoices;
  • Representing a contractor in an adjudication relating to defects in the installation of an aviation fuel test rig, under an NEC3 contract;
  • Advising an Employer on the defective installation of fire alarm system in a large commercial premises.
