Marina Schellenberg

Marina is an associate in Gowling WLG's Waterloo office, with a focus on litigation and employment and labour law. She grew up in Alberta where she also attended university and law school.

Marina has an extensive insurance background and was formerly a registered insurance broker (RIB) in Ontario. Despite falling in love with Ontario, Marina jumped on the opportunity to attend law school in Calgary and pursue her passion for employment law after her spouse was transferred back to Calgary. She began her legal career as a first year summer student with a large national firm in Calgary and completed her articles with the same firm before being hired back as an associate.

While she and her spouse transitioned between provinces, Marina worked at Alberta Health Services as legal counsel for the labour and employment group; and once she moved back to Ontario on a permanent basis, she joined Gowling WLG in Kitchener-Waterloo as an associate with the Employment, Labour and Equalities Group.

Marina brings with her a wealth of professional and legal experience. She is skilled in all matters relating to employment and labour law, employment litigation, labour arbitration, human rights issues and tribunals, privacy issues, dispute resolution, mediation, employment practices and contracts, and liability assessment.
