Matthew Harvey

Matthew specialises in banking and asset finance. He is a leading asset finance lawyer with more than 20 years' experience. He is known for his knowledge of the market, his responsiveness and proactive approach.

He has worked on numerous transactions covering a range of assets and sectors, from aircraft to computers. He handles a variety of asset based structures, including cross-border and off-balance sheet transactions. Matthew has particular experience in equipment leasing as well as the financing of corporate aircraft and helicopters. His work includes export credit, vendor finance, receivables finance and the sale of leasing companies and lease portfolios.

Matthew enjoys using his banking knowledge and expertise to support social lenders Fair Finance and Moneyline.

  • Acting for a leading financial services company on the receivables financing of software licence fees
  • Acting for a major UK Bank on £43m financing of generators to be used in the capacity market
  • Advising a UK-based Islamic bank on the financing of two diving support vessels
  • Acting for a major international bank on a framework agreement for both ECS supported facilities and commercial facilities to be provided to a Russian bank.
  • Drafting standard form receivables purchase agreement for the bank’s asset finance team
  • Acting for a leading UK bank on the disposal of its vehicle contract hire business through numerous sales of sections of its portfolio to other contract hire companies and customers
  • Acting for a leading UK bank on $450m lease facility for helicopters operated by a major helicopter operator. Part of the facility is supported by an ECA and the helicopters are operated throughout the world.
  • Acting for a leading global bank's asset finance unit on the receivables financing of electricity meters.
  • Acting for an individual on the loan financing of a Gulfstream G650 with a major Swiss bank
  • Acting for a leading Indian bank on a $10m invoice financing facility.
