Meera Unadkat

Meera Unadkat is a London-based principal associate in the corporate team. Her practice focuses on providing corporate and commercial advice on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate finance transactions and equity capital markets transactions.

Meera acts for start-up companies at the beginning of their life cycle, through to established quoted companies. The majority of Meera's practice is focused around mergers and acquisitions, group reorganisations and the establishment of joint ventures and shareholders' agreements and is international in nature.

Meera focuses on understanding her clients' businesses and their commercial needs. She acts for both sellers and buyers, allowing her to focus on key issues of concern and to ensure that the transaction runs efficiently.

Meera experience includes a secondment with Arthur J Gallagher's legal team, where she gained an in-depth knowledge of the business of the mergers and acquisitions team.

Meera's recent experience includes:

  • Advising Thomas Miller Holdings Limited, an independent and international provider of insurance, professional and investment services, on its acquisition of Brookes Bell, a leading marine technical and surveying consultancy.
  • Advising Getinge AB on the UK aspects of its group reorganisation. The reorganisation of the Getinge AB group, resulted in the separation of business lines, such that Getinge AB's group now carries on acute care therapies and surgical flows and Arjo AB's group now carries on the patient and post-acute care. Following completion of the reorganisation, Arjo AB has been distributed to the shareholders of Getinge AB and listed on the Nasdaq Stockholm, resulting in Getinge AB and Arjo AB being independently listed.
  • Advised Primrose Solar on the acquisition of a 4.21 MW solar farm at Fanny House Farm, Heaton with Oxcliffe.
  • Advised Golden House and Terentus (Israeli and Luxembourg acquirers) on the acquisition of St Cloud Care, whose business comprises five established care homes and adjacent supported living apartments, from vendors Philip and Linton Connell.
  • Advising Arthur J. Gallagher on its disposal of Oval's discontinued financial advice business to run-off buyer Randall & Quilter (R&Q).
