Megan Cornell

Megan Cornell is a partner in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office and is a member of the firm's Business Law Group. Her practice focuses on transactional and commercial matters.

Megan advises on mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring, governance, commercial agreements, joint ventures and other commercial relationships, public and private financings, and privacy and employment matters. She is known for her practical and solutions-focused advice.

Operating in various industries such as technology, financial services, retail and industrial/manufacturing, Megan's clients include large public companies, small local businesses, as well as foreign-owned companies with Canadian subsidiaries.

Megan has a business owner mindset and a love for technology and process optimization. She is a strong team leader who aims to provide legal support that helps close transactions and sales, while also identifying and mitigating risks. She is a true partner to her clients’ growth and development goals.

In her spare time, Megan volunteers with local business organizations, not-for-profits, her children’s school, and political groups.

Prior to joining Gowling WLG, she founded and operated a boutique business law firm in Ottawa.
