Michelle Easton is a partner in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office with more than 20 years of experience advising Canadian and international companies across a wide range of industries on the protection, management and enforcement of their brands. Her practice encompasses trademark clearance and prosecution, opposition and cancellation proceedings, enforcement, including online infringement and domain name disputes, as well as trademark licensing and transactional matters involving intellectual property.

Michelle has extensive experience managing Canadian and global trademark portfolios and developing coordinated filing, protection and enforcement programs across multiple jurisdictions. She brings a practical, commercial perspective to portfolio management, helping clients prioritize investment, manage risk and secure meaningful protection aligned with their markets and business priorities. Her broad oversight of portfolios enables her to identify trends and emerging issues, anticipate challenges and provide forward-looking advice as businesses, markets and priorities evolve.
