Moheidden Wehbe

Moheidden is an Intellectual Property Administrator based in Dubai.

Moheidden's main focus is on patent and design prosecution in the UAE, GCC countries and the wider MENA region. He also supports the team on trademark prosecution work and contentious matters in the UAE. He is experienced in working across the region to tight deadlines and has built a strong relationship with key contacts to ensure projects are completed in an efficient manner.

A key part of his role is dealing with UAE government officials for IP related matters, but also from time to time supporting other departments in Gowling WLG's UAE office. He has accompanied IP enforcement officials on raids to help oversee matters for clients and provide assistance to the officials from the rights' holders' perspective.

Experience

  • Supporting clients with notarisation and legalisation of legal documents (such as powers of attorney, assignments, corporate and commercial contracts) for use in the UAE and overseas.
  • Successfully prepared and filed patents, trademarks, designs and copyright matters to tight deadlines in the UAE and GCC Patent office, completing the Arabic translation of the documents and preparing the filing applications.
  • Successfully recording clients' trademarks with customs and other enforcement officials in different emirates of the UAE.
  • Successfully representing clients before the IP enforcement officials, including accompanying the officials on raids to help oversee matters for clients and provide assistance to the officials from the rights' holders' perspective.
  • Dealing with various UAE government departments on behalf of clients for a wide range of matters from IP related work, product regulatory, advertising and marketing matters, trade licence queries, corporate set up, commercial agencies matters, and many other issues where clients require the assistance of Gowling WLG.
