
Bio
Molly Hamilton is an articling student in Gowling WLG’s Montréal office.
She earned her joint bachelor of civil law and juris doctor (BCL/JD) from McGill University’s Faculty of Law in 2024. Prior to law school, she completed a bachelor of arts at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, majoring in political science and minoring in women’s and gender studies.
During her legal studies, Molly volunteered with the Mobile Legal Clinic, assisting individuals experiencing homelessness in navigating the legal system. She also served as a student volunteer with the Shield of Athena Legal Clinic, where she provided legal information to survivors of domestic violence.
Following her first year of law school, Molly worked at a Montréal law firm specializing in municipal law. After her second year, she completed a three-month internship at a legal clinic in Kenya.
Before beginning her legal studies, Molly worked with the Women, Peace and Security program at the African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (ACCORD) in Durban, South Africa. In that role, she helped implement a mediation and negotiation capacity-building program for more than 180 women, supporting local peacebuilding initiatives and strengthening community-led conflict resolution efforts.
