Natasha Lakhani

Natasha Lakhani is an associate lawyer based in Gowling WLG's Waterloo Region office. She specializes in cross-border immigration. She handles both corporate and personal immigration matters.

For corporate matters, she assists employers in assessing foreign candidates and planning strategies for their entry into Canada with work authorizations and providing long-term solutions including permanent residency (express entry and provincial nomination programs). She is known for providing innovative immigration routes including using NAFTA and other Free Trade Agreements, as well as other non-LMIA work permit options including intra-company transfer, francophone Mobilite, reciprocal benefits, international Canadian experience work permits etc. She has been recognized by the firm for her success rate with highly complex labour market impact assessments and global talent labour market impact assessments.

For personal matters, she helps students abroad to obtain study permits and eventually obtain post-graduate work permits. She also has developed a specialty in spousal sponsorships and reuniting families.

As a first generation immigrant, she understands the difficulty of moving to a new country and strives to make the immigration transition as smooth as possible for all her clients.
