Neelam Sharma

Neelam Sharma's background is that has been a social housing litigator but she is also a commercial litigator.

Neelam has assisted clients to manage their various types of assured tenancies and tenants in any way possible, through a wide range of legal remedies and options available to them. The team offers a legal advice line as part of our all-round service so every query, however little, is addressed.

Neelam advises on all areas of housing management but specialises in contentious matters such as injunctions, committals, demotions, possession proceedings. Issues relating to mental health, human rights and discrimination often arise.

She has presented and provided training on a variety of housing related matters.

  • Neelam obtained possession of a property obtained by fraudulent representations and secured costs of the claim by way of a charging order. The unusual element of the case was that the defendant used to copy in the Indian Prime Minister at the time!
  • She sought an injunction and possession against a hoarder with mental health difficulties and assistance was granted to the individual as a consequence of those proceedings. The ultimate objective is not always an Order sometimes but obtaining the necessary help required.
  • Neelam obtained possession orders against two individuals who inappropriately mutually exchanged knowing the Registered Providers employee was going outside their remit.
  • Neelam has also undertaken general commercial litigation cases involving providing detailed advice, resolving contractual disputes, debt recovery, advising clients upon recovering their debt after their debtor' has gone into administration and data subject access requests.
