Neil McCormick

Neil McCormick is a partner in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office, practising in the Business Law Group.

Neil's practice focuses extensively on not-for-profit corporations, whom he regularly assists with a variety of governance-related issues. In particular, Neil has developed expertise in:

  • Incorporating corporations with, and managing issues relating to, multi-stakeholder boards of directors;
  • The fiduciary duties of directors and officers; and
  • Statutes governing not-for-profit corporations, including Crown corporations and other "special act" corporations.

In his commercial law practice, Neil regularly assists clients to draft and negotiate various agreements relating to Canadian and international matters, including funding agreements, collaboration agreements, affiliation agreements, service agreements, and agreements to commercialize intellectual property.
