Peter W. Choe

Peter Choe is a partner and intellectual property litigator, having served in various firm leadership roles, including as head of the IP department in Gowling WLG's Toronto office, and as co-leader of the firm-wide Intellectual Property Litigation Group. He has expertise in patent, trademark, copyright, and industrial design litigation. Peter also has decades of experience in product liability cases.

Peter has appeared before the trial and appellate levels of Federal and Ontario courts. His experience covers a variety of technologies and industries, including: computer software, wireless hardware, electrical appliances, pharmaceuticals, financial services, automotive parts, and related manufacturing processes.

Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Peter worked as a design engineer in the area of cryogenics and bio-magnetic imaging equipment. He has also worked in Seoul in the intellectual property department of South Korea's largest law firm, as well as in the legal department of an advanced technology company.

Peter is a fellow of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada, and was a founding director of the Korean-Canadian Lawyers Association. He is a past president of FACL Ontario, the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, where he served on the board for many years.  He was recently on the board of the Korean Legal Clinic.
