Pui Hong is a lawyer in Gowling WLG’s Calgary office, working in the debt recovery services group.  Pui provides clients advice during all stages of the recovery process, including pre-litigation to post-judgement enforcement.  In addition to recovery services, Pui has broad experience in both litigation and corporate commercial matters.

Pui studied law in San Diego, and upon graduation, worked at a boutique firm specialising in judgment enforcement, difficult recoveries and the international recovery of assets.  She has also spent time as a corporate trust officer where she negotiated and implemented various trust instruments.

Upon returning to Canada, Pui was general counsel at a publicly listed industrial and environmental services company where she acted as the sole legal counsel for all of the company’s business units.  Her experience in that role included ensuring compliance with securities regulations, assisting the board of directors with corporate governance matters, the review and negotiation of various business agreements and construction contracts, assisting with the negotiation of partnerships with Indigenous groups, advising on employment matters, and managing the corporation’s litigation matters.

Pui is a volunteer with Calgary Legal Guidance, assisting clients during evening clinics as well as their homeless outreach program at the Mustard Seed.
