Rachel Prestayko

Rachel Prestayko is a law student in Gowling WLG’s Toronto office. She will focus her summer working with the Intellectual Property Department.

Rachel is completing her JD at the University of Ottawa where she has been a research assistant working on privacy in autonomous vehicles, a mentor in the Women’s Legal Mentorship Program, and a member of the Mind-Brain-Law discussion group.

Prior to law school, Rachel was a research associate at an international research organization developing new materials for 3D printing. She became familiar with the patent process from the perspective of an inventor, as she contributed towards several patent applications.

Rachel holds a BSc (Honours) in Chemistry from McMaster University. During her undergraduate degree, she had several research assistant roles synthesizing and testing nanomaterials.
