Savleen Kaur Sur

Savleen Kaur Sur is a summer law student at Gowling WLG's Montréal office. She will begin articling at the firm in 2024.

Savleen is currently in her final year of the joint Bachelor of Civil Law and Juris Doctor (B.C.L./J.D.) program at McGill University's Faculty of Law with a major in Commercial Negotiation and Dispute Resolution. Prior to law school, Savleen completed her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology and double minors in Indigenous Studies and Canadian Ethnic and Racial Studies at McGill University.

Throughout her legal studies, Savleen volunteered at the Legal Information Clinic at McGill as a caseworker, giving clients legal information on Quebec law, and as a student advocate, advising and representing students in disciplinary hearings with McGill University. She led workshops on legal topics for the Law-Éducation-Connexion (L.E.X.) High School Outreach Program. She also clerked for Honourable Karen Kear-Jodoin at the Superior Court of Québec.

During her Bachelor of Arts, Savleen co-founded an e-commerce affiliate marketing website. She supports entrepreneurs through the Compass Startup Legal Clinic by providing clients with business and legal information as well as presenting workshops on topics related to negotiation.
