Sefton is an equity capital markets lawyer with over 25 years' experience in corporate law. He advises on IPOs, secondary fundraisings, re-organisations, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions of public and private companies. He has a particular specialism in working with companies in the natural resources sector many of which are dual listed and have projects either in established overseas jurisdictions or in emerging markets.
Advising companies, nominated advisers and brokers on IPOs and secondary fundraisings particularly on AIM, many involving complex cross-border elements.
Advising on domestic and international joint ventures and farm-in arrangements within the natural resources sector.
Advising on subscriptions for both minority and majority shareholders (Rule 9 "whitewash"), re-organisations, convertible loan issues, schemes of arrangement, disposals, acquisitions and shareholder activism together with on- going corporate advice to both domestic and overseas companies.
Sefton was integral in developing a niche natural resources equity capital markets practice from grass roots to a nationally and internationally recognised practice over a sixteen year period. He has also spent time working in Australia as a director in the capital markets team of a leading independent AIM nominated adviser.
