Şenay Nihat

Şenay qualified as a barrister as a Major Scholar of Inner Temple, and practised from chambers before joining Gowling WLG. She brings a litigation specialism to the team, having direct experience of litigation at all levels, from mediation up to and including Supreme Court appeals.

Şenay's practice encompasses both advisory and contentious work. Her caseload is varied and includes:

  • Commercial landlord and tenant disputes (including lease renewal, dilapidations, rent review)
  • Rights of light disputes
  • Highway and public rights of way
  • Public authorities
  • Agricultural tenancies
  • Insolvency matters
  • Breach of contract and commercial disputes
  • Residential landlord and tenant disputes (including residential leasehold, enfranchisement, possession, social housing and trespass)


Has appeared in Supreme Court as junior counsel and currently advising on a Supreme Court matter with respect to the interpretation of 'highway'.

Part of a team advising on the implications of a PFI Contract of significant value.
