Sergey Meleshko is an anti-counterfeiting specialist in Gowling WLG’s Moscow office.
Sergey advises Russian and international clients on anti-counterfeiting and brand protection issues. His work involves implementing anti-counterfeiting procedures, protecting trademarks and software products, including the development of online brand protection programmes and pre-trial settlement of domain disputes. Sergey has worked with clients in consumer goods, automotive, manufacturing, fashion, sports and entertainment industries.
Sergey undertakes a range of anti-counterfeiting activities, including performing examinations, establishing facts of infringement of IP rights, collecting information about and identifying traders in counterfeit products, performing private investigations, conducting test purchases, and taking civil legal action. He regularly interacts with law enforcement and customs authorities. Sergey also delivers seminars on IP protection matters.
Sergey joined the Moscow office in 2018 from a Russian consulting company, where he focused on intellectual property protection matters such as anti-counterfeiting, trademarks, software products and domain names.
Sergey studied economics and finance at the Moscow Industry and Finance Academy. He also attended professional training programmes and earned certificates from Soyuzexpertiza, Plekhanov Russian Academy of Economics and Higher School of Economics. Sergey is fluent in Russian and English.
