Susan Vogt is one of Canada's leading lawyers in advertising law. A Toronto-based Gowling WLG partner with more than 30 years' experience, she advises national and international manufacturing clients and advertising agencies.
Highly regarded for her responsive and creative approach to legal problems in a rapidly changing field, Susan has been involved in several of the leading advertising law cases in Canada and has experience with regulators at every level of government. She is fluently bilingual and can advise on advertising and packaging issues in both English and French.
Top-ranked for many years by major legal directories such as Lexpert, The Best Lawyers in Canada and Chambers, Susan is co-author of the leading text Advertising and Marketing Law in Canada, now in its 6th Edition. She was a long-term director of the National Advertising Benevolent Society.
Susan's practice involves the review of broadcast, print and digital advertising as well as packaging, labelling and point-of-sale materials. She is experienced in misleading advertising disputes, food and drug regulatory issues, contests, promotions and social media.
Susan has a particular focus on the pharmaceutical, packaged goods and automotive sectors, and specializes in privacy law as well as co-promotion and celebrity endorsement agreements. A significant portion of Susan's practice also involves trademark prosecution and licensing.
