Tanisha Merkley

Tanisha Merkley is an articling student in Gowling WLG's Hamilton office.

Tanisha obtained her JD from Queen's University. She completed a joint program earning a Masters of Public Administration in concurrence with her JD.

While at Queen's, Tanisha played on the varsity water polo team. She was a volunteer editor and productions manager with the Journal of Commercial Arbitration. She competed in the Hockey Arbitration Competition of Canada, learning about the arbitration process. Tanisha was also a student caseworker with the Queen's Business Law Clinic, where she helped small businesses in the Kingston area with a variety of issues such as corporate governance, intellectual property and incorporation.

Prior to law school, Tanisha received her bachelor of arts at the University of Guelph. Her undergrad was in criminal justice and public policy, and political science. She also completed a certificate in civic engagement and global citizenship.

Outside of work, Tanisha enjoys hand embroidering, vintage shopping and listening to podcasts.
