Tanya Rocca is an associate in the advocacy department of Gowling WLG's Toronto office. Her practice includes a variety of commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, class actions, product liability and negligence claims. Tanya has also assisted franchisors defend claims under Ontario’s Arthur Wishart Act for rescission, misrepresentation and breach of the duty of good faith.
Tanya has experience utilizing legal project management tools to facilitate timely and on-budget solutions for her clients. As a result of her practical approach to litigation matters, Tanya has obtained successful outcomes for her clients both at trial and in mediation.
Tanya summered with the firm in 2008, and returned for her articles in 2009. While completing her law degree at Queen’s, Tanya was involved with Pro Bono Students Canada and Queen’s Legal Aid. Tanya is a mentor to students and junior associates at Gowling WLG, and regularly volunteers with Law Help Ontario to provide their clients with pro bono legal services.
Tanya has appeared before the Ontario Small Claims Court, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and the Ontario Court of Appeal, and has prepared written submissions for the Supreme Court of Canada. She is a member of The Advocates’ Society, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Canadian Bar Association.
Tanya is fluent in Italian and conversant in French.
