Tracey Scher

Tracey Scher is the practice director of Gowling WLG’s Specialized Practices and Disputes departments, leading the business, financial, and operational management of a range of diverse practice groups.

Tracey has more than 25 years of experience building high-performing teams, modernizing business operations, and leading change initiatives within and beyond the legal sector. Prior to her current role, she served as general manager of Gowling WLG's Vancouver office, where she was responsible for all non-legal activities and operations, including accounting and finance, human resources, marketing, knowledge management, facilities and systems. During this time, she was also a member of the firm's senior Administrative Management Committee and the Vancouver Office Management Committee.

Tracey began her career as a corporate lawyer in the UK, where she worked in private practice and in-house for over a decade.  After a further 10 years in the hospitality industry as owner-operator of a boutique holiday resort in France, she moved to Vancouver where she spent four years as chief operating officer of another Vancouver law firm. She joined Gowling WLG in 2020.
