
Bio
Valérie Pilote is an articling student in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office, focusing her work with the Advocacy Group.
Valérie graduated from the University of Ottawa’s French Common Law Program (J.D.). During her studies, she participated in multiple moot court competitions including the Michel Bastarache on language rights and the IRC (Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship). Valérie gained practical experience in many areas of law by working at the Criminal Clerk’s office of the Gatineau Courthouse and interning with judges of the Superior Court of Quebec (Youth Division, Civil, Criminal and Penal).
Prior to entering law school, Valérie completed a bachelor of commercial sciences in marketing (B.Com) at the University of Ottawa. Her interest in seeking new experiences also led her to do a student exchange in Sweden at Uppsala University.
As an avid traveler, Valérie enjoys discovering other cultures, meeting new people and checking adventures off her bucket list. In her spare time, she loves to stay active and spend time outside with her friends and family.
Valérie is fluent in both French and English.
