Veronica Van Dalen is an associate in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office.
Veronica’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation matters, with an emphasis on patent litigation and copyright disputes. She has represented major pharmaceutical and telecommunications companies, before both the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal.
After completing her articles at Gowling WLG, Veronica clerked for the Honourable Justice Donald J. Rennie of the Federal Court of Appeal. At the Court, Veronica learned about the judicial process while assisting with cases in the areas of intellectual property, administrative law, tax law, and procedure before the Federal Courts.
Veronica received her law degree from the University of Ottawa, graduating cum laude with a specialization in law and technology. She won multiple awards for her academic achievements in the school’s intellectual property courses. Prior to law school, Veronica completed her bachelor of science (Honours) in biochemistry at Mount Allison University, where she defended a thesis about an algal metabolic pathway.
