Wael Louis

Wael Louis is a summer law student in Gowling WLG’s Toronto Office. 

Wael is completing his JD at Osgoode Hall Law School and is also set to complete Osgoode's Intellectual Property Law and Technology Intensive program.  While at Osgoode, Wael has volunteered at the IP Osgoode Innovation Clinic and was an editor for IPilogue, IP Osgoode’s online blog. 

Prior to law school, Wael acquired industrial experience in electrical and computer engineering by working on various commercial projects in the areas of artificial intelligence (AI), computer vision, and signal processing.

Wael holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto. During his PhD, he was awarded the Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarships-Doctoral Program for his proposed research in the area of AI. He also holds an M.A.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto and a B.Eng. (Honours) in Electrical Engineering from Ryerson University.

Wael will focus his summer in the firm's Intellectual Property Department.
