Yves Ouellette is a partner in Gowling WLG's Montréal office, practising tax law with a particular emphasis on taxation, administrative law, constitutional law (Charter of Rights and Freedoms), Aboriginal law and occupational health and safety law.
Yves represents individuals and companies in tax litigation matters (civil, penal and criminal issues) relating to the Goods and Services Tax (GST), the Québec Sales Tax (QST), the Taxation Act (Québec) and the Income Tax Act (Canada).
Prior to joining Gowling WLG's predecessor firm, Lafleur Brown, in 1993, Yves was director of Revenue Québec’s legal department for 19 years. Additionally, Yves has broad experience in appearing before the courts of justice and, notably the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Federal Court of Canada, the Tax Court of Canada, the Superior Court, the Court of Québec and other administrative courts.
A leader in tax litigation, Yves has given numerous lectures on the subject of taxation.
