Manuela added: "I'm delighted to be joining a firm with such a well-established and award-winning IP team. I'm looking forward to further developing the base of clients, particularly in the areas of entertainment and video games, and providing them with an outstanding service."

Manuela specialises in all areas of IP and IT, including trademark, design, copyright and competition law. She also advises on commercial matters such as licensing and distribution, mergers and acquisitions and has a focus on new media.

Her practice includes both contentious and non-contentious work for German and international clients in the fashion, entertainment, video games, retail, information and communication technologies sectors.

Gordon Harris, Gowling WLG's co-head of IP said: "Manuela's appointment is another significant milestone for our world-leading IP practice. She is not only a Managing Intellectual Property Star but also a Legal 500 recommended lawyer and has published in leading German special interest media on new media topics, online platforms and data protection".

Gowling WLG also recently welcomed partner Jon Parker in Dubai, who will establish and grow the firm's IP presence in the Middle East and Africa, while the Munich office has also strengthened its corporate offering through the appointment of Dr Andreas Woelfe.
