ThinkHouse Foundations Spring Seminar - Birmingham
14 mai 2026
09:00-14:00
ThinkHouse Foundations is our tailored programme for in-house lawyers at the start of your career. Drawing on the topics and insights that matter to you, we explore the opportunities and challenges faced by paralegals, trainees and lawyers with up to five years' experience. These events are specifically tailored to the needs of the in-house lawyer and also offer the opportunity to network with peers at a similar career stage.
At the seminar, we will deliver training on four topics, all designed to help broaden your knowledge and provide practical take-away points you can apply in your day-to-day role.
Employment Law Update
The Employment Rights Act 2025 is set to bring sweeping changes to English employment law. Jack Mitchell and Gurjeet Bahra will take you through some of the key reforms, including the reduction of the unfair dismissal qualifying period and removal of the statutory cap on unfair dismissal compensation. They will also cover other key changes under the Act that in-house lawyers need to have on their radar, so you can stay ahead of what is coming next.
Mind the Gaps: Drafting for Uncertainty and Avoiding the Fallout
With an unpredictable commercial landscape becoming the new norm, this session brings together both contentious and non contentious perspectives to explore common contract pitfalls, and how they can cause disputes down the line. Bethan Luckman and Caitlin Cooney will look at how these issues tend to surface in practice, and share practical ways to draft with certainty in mind.
Helping your business to deploy AI
Amy Moore will explore the key opportunities and challenges businesses are facing as they seek to implement AI in practice, from efficiency gains and innovation to risk management and governance concerns. She will discuss ways in which in-house counsel can support AI deployment in a responsible and commercially effective way.
Delivering High Performance
Organisations regularly talk about High Performance, but what does this phrase actually mean? In this session, we'll look at what it is and what it means to you, as well as learning techniques for achieving personal high performance. We'll also identify issues which may get in the way of us delivering high performance and develop a plan to overcome them. The session will cover:
Defining and measuring high performance
Identifying and overcoming barriers to high performance
Creating a personal high performance plan
We hope you can join us at one of the events for a morning of legal updates, skills development and peer networking.
