Midlands Business Insider award win for key transactional advice
Gowling WLG has won an Insider Dealmaker of the Year Award (Midlands category) for its advice relating to private equity firm LDC's investment in Solid Solutions, a leading provider of 3D computer aided design software.
The Deal of the Year award win is testament the complexity of the transaction and the firm's inherent experience in advising private equity investors on a full range of matters on the life cycle of an investment, combining technical excellence with in-depth market knowledge.
Gowling WLG corporate partner Chris Towle, who led a cross firm team on the deal, said: "It is fantastic to be part of the broader client team winning this award. The transaction involved a comprehensive spectrum of acquisition and ongoing investment advice, that in-turn has assisted in facilitating significant growth potential for Solid Solutions.
"The win is enhanced by the firm also being shortlisted for Corporate Law Firm of the Year as a result of the team's efforts and expertise in relation to this project, helping to collectively ensure that our expertise continues to gain recognition."
The team advising on the transaction that led to the award also included senior associate Chris Letters and associate Grace Humber (both corporate) and partner Navin Prabhakar, senior associate Richard Crawley and associate Sarina Mann (all banking and finance). Transaction Services specialists Greg Dunn and Mel Mapstone co-ordinated a multi-disciplinary legal due diligence exercise, whilst partner Zoe Fatchen, principal associate Tom Rank and associate Helen Hibbert advised on tax.
