Gowling WLG lawyers recognised once again in India Business Law Journal's International A-list of India's top 100 lawyers
The joint heads of Gowling WLG's India Group, Sunil Kakkad and Anurag (Ragi) Singh have been named among the 2024 Top 100 international lawyers by India Business Law Journal.
Sunil and Ragi have extensive experience advising clients on domestic and cross-border M&A, capital market transactions, private equity investments, joint ventures and strategic alliances. As joint heads of the firm's India Group they are accustomed to advising Indian companies, financial institutions and high net worth individuals on a wide range of cross-border transactions.
This latest recognition follows previous listings for the pair in India Business Law Journal's Top 100 Lawyers list, with Sunil having been featured in the guide for six consecutive years, and Ragi for four.
Sunil's focus on India stretches back decades and he is widely regarded as one of the most experienced practitioners in the Anglo-Indian market, having been involved in public and private market transactions for Indian corporates (including multiple IPOs). He is also head of Gowling WLG's Corporate Group in the UK.
Ragi is a leading partner in Gowling WLG's M&A and Private Equity practice and holds a number of senior positions within the firm, including head of the firm's Automotive Manufacturing and Electric Vehicle sector teams. As a former technology lawyer, Ragi is accustomed to advising tech and tech enabled businesses, as well as servicing overseas clients, buying or selling from foreign companies and understanding the vagaries of transactions with a significant overseas element.
At a firm level, our position as one of the world's top advisers to Indian businesses has also been recognised by the Indian Business Law Journal, which names Gowling WLG as a leading international 'Firm to Watch' for India-related matters.
