
Bio
Ayan Siad-Omar is a summer law student in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office, focusing her work with the Advocacy Group.
Ayan is completing her JD at the University of Windsor. She has participated in moots such as the Julius Alexander Isaac Moot, coaches 1L students for the Legal Research and Writing Moot, and volunteers for the Lloyd Dean Moot. Ayan is a research assistant at the Centre for Cities, where she focuses on the intersection of city-building policy and municipal law. Previously, Ayan worked at Legal Assistance of Windsor, supporting immigration and migrant farmworker cases.
Prior to law school, Ayan earned an Honours BA in Human Geography with a minor in Sociology from the University of Alberta. As part of her undergraduate studies, she traveled to Brazil to research the relationship between people and their built environment.
In her spare time, Ayan enjoys travelling, trying new recipes and exploring different workout classes.
