Jada Perkins

Jada is an associate in Gowling WLG's Calgary office. Her practice focuses on corporate commercial, M&A, capital markets and private equity, with an emphasis on energy projects (oil and gas, renewables and hydrogen). She has significant experience in the following areas:

• Share and asset acquisition agreements and corporate restructuring in relation to private equity buy-outs, reverse takeovers and spin-out transactions
• Complex corporate matters, including plans of arrangements, going public transactions and cross-border divestitures
• Brokered and non-brokered financings (equity and debt), including concurrent private placements and bought-deal financings
• Leading due diligence processes for acquisitions, mergers and private equity investments
• Advising on transactional matters, corporate governance and regulatory compliance for both domestic and international clients operating in the energy and natural resources sectors

Jada provides clients with strategic solutions to meet their business objectives by leveraging her knowledge and experience in navigating legal challenges across a diverse range of industry sectors. Her practice involves understanding multifaceted industry trends in order to enable clients to seize emerging opportunities and effectively mitigate potential risks. 

Jada is a born-and-raised Calgarian and obtained her JD and BA from the University of Calgary. Following her first year of law school, she summered at the Alberta Utilities Commission, where she assisted with regulatory matters concerning development, construction and operation of investor-owned utility services in Alberta. Throughout her legal studies, Jada was a volunteer for the Consent Project at Pro Bono Students Canada.

Outside of her practice, Jada volunteers at the Alberta Children's Hospital in the music therapy program. She has also represented Team Alberta in Olympic weightlifting at both the Junior and Senior Canadian National levels.
