James Rees

James Rees is an associate in Gowling WLG’s Vancouver office.

A versatile and experienced trial counsel, James has appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia, including the Provincial Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal. He previously worked at an insurance defence litigation firm, practising for the last number of years on a variety of different matters. He has experience representing clients in various areas, including personal injury (both defence and plaintiff), professional negligence, property damage subrogation, occupiers’ liability, retail risk, construction, strata property claims, collections and commercial claims.

James takes a proactive approach to his files and works to understand his clients needs and expectations. He understands that every matter and client is unique and focuses on tailoring his approach accordingly. He is a clear and effective communicator and practical thinker, allowing him to work to resolve his clients claims in a timely and effective manner.
