Kaitlin Mak

Kaitlin Mak is an articling student in Gowling WLG's Waterloo Region office.
Kaitlin studied law at Osgoode Hall Law School and spent a semester abroad at the University of Luxembourg, where she focused on European Union law in the context of privacy and data protection. She held progressive editorial roles at the Osgoode Hall Law Journal, serving as Associate Editor, Senior Editor, and later as Director of Technical Training. She also volunteered as a junior caseworker with the Community & Legal Aid Services Program (CLASP).
Prior to law school, Kaitlin earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies and Business from the University of Waterloo. Through the university’s Co-operative Education Program, she worked with several Toronto-based startup technology companies, gaining experience in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and the business challenges that arise throughout a company’s growth cycle.
Kaitlin is deeply committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. She is passionate about student leadership and community building as a means of promoting these core values. Outside of the office, Kaitlin enjoys spending time with her book club and following Formula 1 racing.
