Kit is a Senior Associate in the TMT practice at Gowlings (Dubai) and has a wealth of experience acting for market leading clients in the technology and AI sectors on technology transactions and regulatory compliance matters.

Kit advises on matters relating to privacy, data security, financial services regulations, online safety, consumer protection, platform liability, cyber governance and artificial intelligence.

Kit specialises in AI regulation and is a contributing author to a number of AI-focused publications, including with the International Technology Law Association. Kit has regularly lectured at Melbourne Law School in the Commercial Data Law and AI, Ethics and the Law subjects on AI regulation and governance.

Expérience

Advised one of the world's leading technology companies and, separately, the world's leading AI services company on compliance with Australia's online safety regime. This involved advising on the complexities of the scope and application of such laws in relation to the clients' suite of product and service offerings and how to navigate compliance with the relevant obligations in a commercial pragmatic manner.
Drafted the playbook and contracting templates on the procurement, use and deployment of artificial intelligence for a number of Australian-based clients, including major retail and manufacturing companies. These clauses were drafted bespoke with close attention to the specific needs of those businesses and incorporated new concepts in light of nuanced requirements arising from the adoption of AI technologies.
Secondee at a market leading financial payments services provider, acting as lead product and regulatory counsel for Australia. Advised the business on relevant financial services regulations and other laws that applied to its business and product offerings which included certain payments hardware systems and liaised on behalf of the business with privacy and financial services regulatory bodies.
