
Bio
Lexie McNamara is a summer law student in Gowling WLG’s Calgary office. She is entering into her third year of law school at the University of Windsor Faculty of Law.
Lexie graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of business administration from Laurentian University, where she received several awards and a scholarship in recognition of her outstanding academic achievement. During her undergraduate studies, she served as the Student Equity Diversity and Inclusion Representative, chaired a board focused on DEI initiatives at the YMCA, and worked as a server and bartender at various local restaurants.
During law school, Lexie has been actively engaged in a range of professional and extracurricular initiatives. In her first year, she coordinated the Youth Criminal and Family Law Clinic with Pro Bono Students Canada, where she worked directly with clients and conducted legal research across various areas of criminal law. In her second year, she served as a peer mentor to first-year law students and competed in the Walsh 2026 Negotiation Competition. Lexie is particularly drawn to commercial litigation but remains open to exploring a wide range of practice areas.
Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Lexie spent a summer working as a summer law student at a litigation firm. Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Lexie enjoys playing a variety of sports, including soccer, hockey, and golf. She is passionate about health and wellness, regularly engaging in weightlifting and hot yoga, and also enjoys hiking and baking.
