Michael Shafarenko

Michael Shafarenko is an associate lawyer in the Capital Markets Group in Gowling WLG’s Toronto office. He acts for issuers and underwriters in public debt and equity financings across a range of industry sectors including mining, technology and healthcare.

Michael has experience representing both public and private companies, with a focus on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. His work includes:

• Raising debt and equity through public and private corporate finance transactions, including bought deals, prospectus offerings and private placements

• Reverse takeovers and qualifying transactions

• Regulatory and stock exchange compliance

• Continuous disclosure obligations

• Mergers and acquisitions, including both share and asset purchase transactions

• Corporate governance

Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Michael worked in the Toronto office of a leading national firm.
