Nathan Piché is a lawyer and registered trademark agent in Gowling WLG's Intellectual Property (IP) Group, based in the firm's Ottawa office. His practice focuses on trademark and copyright prosecution, enforcement, and litigation.
Nathan provides advice on contentious and non-contentious trademark and copyright matters. He regularly advises on trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement matters, and has experience managing large international trademark portfolios.
Nathan also has a range of litigation experience, and has represented clients before the Federal Court of Canada, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and the Canadian Trademarks Opposition Board.
In the 2023 & 2024 editions of Best Lawyers in Canada, Nathan was named "Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch" in Intellectual Property Law.
Outside of the firm, Nathan is a member of the International Trademarks Association, where he recently served on the Pro-Bono Subcommittee. Nathan has also been a part-time professor at the University of Ottawa, where he taught the trademark portion of the Intellectual Property Law class to upper-year law students.
Prior to entering law school, Nathan spent five years touring as a professional musician across Canada, the United States, and Australia, and was nominated for two Juno Awards.
