Peter W. Vlaar

Peter is an associate in Gowling WLG’s Waterloo Region office. He practices in the Employment, Labour & Equalities Group, acting exclusively on behalf of management for both private and public sector employers in provincially and federally regulated spaces.

With prior experience in-house at a national labour union, Peter brings a unique perspective to the needs of employers in managing its workforce in practical and effective ways. In his current practice, Peter advises and represents clients on all matters touching the workplace, including the following:

Peter brings years of experience in litigation to his practice, including extensive experience appearing before arbitrators and mediators in Grievance Arbitration, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal (WSIAT), the Human Rights Tribunal (HRTO), and the Labour Relations Board (OLRB), in addition to appearances before judges and mediators for actions in the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario and Ontario Court of Justice.
